SystemaD’s Educational Dimension

SystemaD’s Educational Dimension

In the last few months SystemaD began with the implementation of its educational dimension. This first step on the ground consisted on the delivery of courses aimed at attaining digital literacy in the adults of the Barrio Carlos Mugica (a slum in Buenos Aires). If technology is to be understood as a vehicle for social transformation, full access to and fluid handling of ICT are necessary conditions that cannot be done away with. These courses are given on a weekly basis to adults with little or no experience at all in the digital world. After a few classes the participants already had their E-Mail and Facebook accounts. As they experienced with the computers on their own (with a friendly and patient escorting, of course!) they quickly started to get rid of the fear they had to those seemingly unmanageable machines.

In the next months we will attempt to go deeper into the basics of the internet. We hope that by the end of the year the participants are able to make use of the tools that the internet provides to bring the best out of their capacities.

In the long run, the goal is to canalize the whole dimension through the web and the app so anyone logged in will be able to take our courses and others from associated educational projects. This functionality seeks to give the same tools to every person inside the ecosystem, improve their abilities, boost their startup businesses and contribute to their reputation in SystemaD.

These are marvelous times for humanity. We believe that great changes in the way people interact will take place in the following years. SystemaD aspires to be part of these changes. If you want to be informed on our advances, stay in touch!
